Annual Scholarship

$2,000 annual scholarship

In the current globalized world in which we live, employers of all types are prioritizing global and intercultural skills when hiring. As an Honors Global Scholar, you will have the opportunity to enhance those skills while in college and demonstrate them to future employers or graduate or professional schools.

Wexford, Ireland is located less than two hours south of Dublin, Ireland on the beautiful southeast coast. Wexford has a long and important place in Irish history and was the departure point for hundreds of people who migrated directly to Savannah, Georgia in the 1800s.  The connections between our two regions are strong and are growing stronger with increased economic and cultural exchanges between Georgia and Wexford.  The clearest representation of that contemporary connection is the Georgia Southern University campus in Wexford—we are the first and only public university in the United States with a permanent learning site in Ireland.

Ireland is the only country in the European Union with English as its primary language and as such is an ideal site to explore a variety of global issues including politics, immigration, history, economics, sustainability, culture, and the arts.
