Transient Student Admission Requirements

Defined as an undergraduate student in good standing at another institution who enrolls for one semester at Georgia Southern to complete coursework transferrable back to their home institution, transient students participate in our leading-edge programs and access unique resources while pursuing their education.

To apply as a visiting student, submit the Georgia Southern application, your official transcripts from your home institution and a $30 nonrefundable application fee.

The Georgia Southern Office of Undergraduate Admissions only maintains a record of nonenrolling student test scores and transcripts for five years. Admission applications and fees are only kept for one year.

Reach out to the Registrar’s or Dean’s Office at your home institution to request the submission of a Letter of Good Standing or Transient Permission Form.

This document must indicate that you are in good academic standing, eligible to return to that institution and have the institution’s permission to attend Georgia Southern as a transient student for the term in which you are applying.

Post-Baccalaureate Admission Requirements

A post-baccalaureate student holds a bachelor’s degree from another institution and intends to take further undergraduate-level courses at Georgia Southern, with the possibility of pursuing a second undergraduate degree.

Complete Georgia Southern’s online application to begin the admission process.

On page three of your application, under “Enrollment Information,” please select the following options:

  • Application Type – “Post-Baccalaureate”
  • Do you plan to seek a degree? – “No”
  • What degree do you intend to earn? – “Select a degree”
  • What is your intended major? – “Non Degree – Post Baccalaureate”

After applying, submit your official transcript from the institution where you received your undergraduate degree.

Note: Non-degree seeking students are not eligible for federal financial aid.

Apply to Georgia Southern to start the process toward earning a second bachelor’s degree.

On page three of your application, under “Enrollment Information,” please select the following options:

  • Application Type – “Post-Baccalaureate”
  • Do you plan to seek a degree? – “Yes”
  • What degree do you intend to earn? – “Bachelor’s”
  • What is your intended major? – Choose the major you intend to complete.

After applying, submit official transcripts from all previous institutions you have attended.

Former Student Admission Requirements

If you attended Georgia Southern or Armstrong State University as an undergraduate student beyond the end of our drop/add period cutoff (excluding dual-enrolled and one-time transient students), then you are a former Georgia Southern student.

To re-enroll as an undergraduate first-year, transfer, transient or post-baccalaureate student, complete Georgia Southern’s Undergraduate Application for Admission through the Office of Admissions.

If you have an undergraduate degree or previous undergraduate coursework from Georgia Southern and want to begin graduate school, apply as a new graduate student. Learn more about the College of Graduate Studies.
