What You’ll Learn

Following standards established by the National Association for Schools of Art and Design, the BFA program combines upper-level studio classes with art history coursework. Your efforts culminate in a capstone: You will develop a portfolio and exhibit your original works, give a formal talk in a gallery setting and write a supporting statement.

The BFA program is specifically designed for students looking to develop professional-level mastery of studio art mediums. While both the BFA and B.A. programs provide preparation for careers in the art world and entrance into graduate programs, the BFA offers more studio time.
