What You’ll Learn

The Reading Endorsement program consists of three courses (nine credit hours) that give you both a theoretical grounding and a set of practical tools to use in the classroom. First, you will learn to introduce and reinforce literacy based on how students acquire reading skills. You will also explore current research and various teaching models and strategies.

From there, you will study the diagnosis and remediation of reading difficulties and the assessment techniques you will use to guide interventions. Finally, you will examine reading within the context of curriculum development and how it ties into other content areas.
