Looking for a long-term international experience? Students in the Parker College have the opportunity to spend a full semester at a partner university abroad. During this time, you’ll enroll in courses, earn a full semester’s worth of credit, and integrate to live like a local in another country. Choose from the universities listed below to learn more and elevate the value of your degree by participating in our exchange programs.
About
Exchange programs allow students to register for and attend classes at a university in another country that partners with the Parker College of Business at Georgia Southern. Students can live and study at a host university for either one semester (Fall or Spring) or one full academic year.
Through this program, students can complete 12-15 credits per term to remain full-time and on track for graduation. Courses are taught at accredited partner universities by well-qualified professors in English. No knowledge of a second language or travel experience is required!
Spending a full semester or year abroad is a great resume builder and activity that makes any young professional stand out from the crowd.
Costs
Exchange programs are generally very cost effective. Students will continue to pay their tuition and fees only to Georgia Southern, so all financial aid can be applied. This makes a typical semester abroad very comparable in cost to a semester on-campus at Georgia Southern.
Generally, students will pay for lodging, a meal plan, and other related expenses for campus living directly to the host university. The cost of studying at each host institution does vary, and students can find a breakdown of estimated expenses for each location under the “Program Options” tab.
Classes
All students participating in an exchange program will enroll at their host university as a full-time student, and should complete enough credit hours to keep on track for graduation.
Prior to departure, all students will have their coursework reviewed and evaluated by the Office of Experiential Learning & Student Engagement in the Parker College. This ensures that the courses a student plans to complete will equate to Parker College courses and apply to the student’s major or degree requirements.
Students must complete a Transfer Course Approval Form prior to their departure in order for financial aid to be released for the term.
