SOAR Leader Recruitment

The SOAR (Southern’s Orientation, Advisement, and Registration) Team is a group of students who work together to welcome all new students to Georgia Southern University. They assist in the development, planning, and implementation of the orientation and transition programs for more than 5,000 students and their family members on the Statesboro Campus and more than 1,000 students and their family members on the Armstrong Campus!

Mandatory Events

  • SOAR Kick-Off: TBD
  • SOAR Team Meetings/Spring Training: 2-3 hours per week
  • SROW (Southern Regional Orientation Workshop): TBD
  • Camp SOAR: TBD
  • SOAR Intensive Training: TBD
  • SOAR Sessions: SOAR leaders are required to be present at all campus-specific in-person sessions and virtual sessions. Sessions run from late May to early August. Session dates will be posted once available.

How to Apply

In order to be considered for an interview, you must:

  1. Have completed or in progress towards completion of at least one semester at Georgia Southern University prior to January 2025.
  2. Maintain a minimum 2.5 institutional GPA.
