Why Get an Associate Degree in Arts or Science?

  • Gain a solid educational foundation without committing to the cost or time of a four-year degree.
  • Earn your degree in-person at our Liberty campus or with the accessibility of a fully online experience.
  • Choose between in-demand fields of scientific study like criminal justice, nursing and STEM, or focus on the timeless liberal arts.
  • Earn a stackable degree that can be easily rolled into a Bachelor’s or Master’s program.

The Associate of Arts or Science program at Georgia Southern is designed to equip students with fundamental knowledge and skills, setting them on a promising academic journey and preparing them for further studies or entry into the workforce. It’s an ideal program for those unable to commit to a longer-term degree, or for those who still need time to decide on a more focused area of study.

The Associate of Arts degree encompasses various liberal arts disciplines, enabling students to explore the humanities, social sciences and fine arts. The Associate of Science degree emphasizes scientific and technical subjects, offering students a pathway to fields like engineering, computer science and the natural sciences.
