2024-2025 FAFSA Submission
- December 30, 2023 — FAFSA available at https://studentaid.gov/ . Use 2022 income information on your FAFSA. Certain types of financial aid are available only on a first-come, first-served basis, so do not delay in submitting the FAFSA.
- April 1, 2024 — Priority deadline: 2024-2025 FAFSA filing, verification documentation submission, and acceptance of aid (if awarded) for the Fall semester. Failure to complete these steps by the priority deadline may delay receipt of your financial aid.
Pell Recalculation
For purposes of determining final award amounts and disbursement amounts, Georgia Southern University uses a recalculation date for each term. This date is always the day after the initial drop/add period of the term. Pell awards and disbursement eligibility are based on the enrollment of the student at that date.

Financial Aid Bookstore Advance
Students who are expecting a sufficient refund from their financial aid funds may use up to $600 in the book store as a book store credit. Students with a Financial Aid Advance for a semester have a limited time to utilize the credit before it expires. The time frames for the credit is listed below. It is important to note that changes to your enrollment, aid, and/or eligibility may result in you still owing a balance if the credit is used before the changes are reflected on your invoice.

Satisfactory Academic Progress Appeal
Students in violation of satisfactory academic progress standards who want to be considered for financial aid eligibility must submit documentation by certain deadlines, as indicated below. Review the Satisfactory Academic Progress Policy for more information. Appeals submitted after the final deadline may not be considered until the next semester.

IMPORTANT: To Avoid Cancelled Classes, You May need to Pay Your Balance While You Wait
SAP appeal takes a while to process. Once appeals are received, they will be forwarded to the Satisfactory Academic Progress committee for review. The committees meet weekly to review submitted appeals on a first-come, first-served basis.
YOU MUST BE PREPARED TO PAY YOUR BALANCE TO AVOID CANCELLATION OF YOUR CLASSES WHILE YOUR APPEAL IS PENDING.
Classes will not be held while an appeal is being reviewed.
