If I am a new student to Georgia Southern, how will I get a schedule?

How do I find my advisement form and where do I find my RAN (registration access number)?

  • If you have been advised, you will be able to find your advisement form in EAB Navigate. Click for step-by-step instructions on how to locate your advisement form or watch the video below
  • Your RAN may be available in your MyGS portal, under “Registration Information”. If it’s not there, it is located on your advisement form that is located in EAB. Review the step-by-step instructions on how to locate your advisement form or watch the video below.

How do I change my major or declare my minor?

If you are currently-enrolled at or have been admitted to Georgia Southern University,  you must complete the following steps:

  1. Log on to your My.GeorgiaSouthern portal account.
  2. Under “Advisement Resources”, click on the “Change Major, Minor, or Campus” link to submit a change of major request.
  3. Follow the directions to complete the changes you would like to make.
  4. Check your Georgia Southern e-mail for formal notification of your change-of-major status. If you’re currently enrolled, you will be notified about who your new advisor will be.

If you are not yet admitted to Georgia Southern University, you will need to contact the Office of Admissions for assistance.

How do I determine the format of my course?

Your courses will be online, hybrid, in-person. You can view your course schedule in your MyGS portal. For each class listed on your schedule, course modality will be listed (online, hybrid, or in-person).

  • If it is in-person or hybrid, it will list the location and times that the class meets face-to-face.
  • If it is online asynchronous, there are no set meeting times.
  • If it is online synchronous, a course time will be listed. You are expected to log into the virtual classroom (Zoom) at that designated time.
