There are two things that have benefited me in the preparation of my professional and public careers from this program. The first is the mentorship that the faculty and staff provided while I was pursuing my degree. The three individuals who stand out are Dr. Saba Jallow, Dr. Nicholas Henry, and Charles Sikes. These three men could not have been more different, but their commonality lied in their ability to be thoughtful in their responses, honest in their assessments, and encouraging in their actions. Back then and now, Dr. Saba Jallow acts as a mentor and an inspiration for me while the lessons of Dr. Henry and Mr. Sikes play in the back of my mind.
