What Are My Options?
- If your grade point average currently falls below a 2.5:
- Confirm that we have the most up-to-date high school transcript on file. You can send in updated grades from your senior year fall term or spring term for re-evaluation.
- If your test scores currently fall below the minimum required for admission, you can retake the SAT or ACT and we will reconsider your application once we have received the official new scores.
- If you are deficient in any of the Required High School Curriculum areas and are currently enrolled in a class within that subject area, send in a course schedule to admissions@georgiasouthern.edu for re-evaluation.
- If you reside near Hinesville, Georgia, you can speak with an admissions counselor to learn more about Georgia Southern University’s Liberty Campus and special enrollment opportunities available there.
- You can attend another accredited college or university and complete 30 transferable semester hours (or 45 transferable quarter hours) with a satisfactory cumulative GPA to qualify for transfer admission. You can research other universities in Georgia online at usg.edu or tcsg.edu.
- For students interested in attending classes in Statesboro, we highly encourage you to consider East Georgia State College’s Statesboro Campus. Students are eligible to use many of the Georgia Southern resources and some classes take place on our campus. We have developed seamless processes for transfer after completing 30 or more transferable credit hours. Learn more about the Bobcat to Eagle (B2E) program. Additional options include Ogeechee Technical College in Statesboro and Savannah State University and Savannah Technical College in Savannah.

- All students have the right to appeal their admission decision. If you do not meet admission requirements but can provide evidence you can be successful at Georgia Southern, you can request your file be re-reviewed with additional information (i.e. recommendation letters or an explanation of special circumstances). Please contact your Admissions Counselor to discuss your situation before beginning the appeal process. Once you’ve done that, please complete the Appeals Form. You will need to login with your application account credentials. Note: The last date to submit an appeal for Fall 2024 enrollment is July 20, 2024.
