About the Program:
Washington D.C. is home to the bodies that create tax law, enforce tax law, and regulate the stock exchange, as well as many other financial services. Students who travel to Washington D.C. will gain first-hand and comparative perspectives on the challenges faced by creating, regulating, and complying with tax law at the federal level.
Courses Titles and Credits:
Students have the opportunity to earn course credit and must be enrolled in 3 credit hours to participate in this program. Students may choose from either of the following:
Undergraduates: ACCT 4030 – Eagles on Penn Ave
Graduates: ACCT 7131 – Eagles on Penn Ave
Eligibility:
Undergraduate students should have a declared major in Accounting, junior or senior status, a minimum 3.0 GPA, and no active disciplinary record with the institution at the time of application.
Graduate students must be regularly admitted to the MAcc or WebMAcc programs and have a minimum 3.0 GPA at the time of application, and no active disciplinary record with the institution at the time of application.
All students must be fully admitted to the institution and at least 18 years of age by the program departure date.
Dates of Program:
Travel: October 13 – October 19, 2024
Students will enroll for credit in the Fall 2024 Minimester II and will be required to attend pre- and post-departure course meetings in the Fall 2024 term.
Students should plan to arrive in Washington, D.C. on October 13. They should plan to depart from Washington, D.C. on October 19.
Program Cost:
$1,737.00
Includes: All regional and local transportation; lodging at a centrally-located hotel for the duration of the program; breakfast everyday; welcome and farewell dinners; tour and entrance expenses; local metro pass; guest lectures; Parker College polo shirt.
Additional Costs: Tuition & fees for 3 credit hours of course enrollment, travel expenses to/from Washington, D.C. and additional meals/personal expenses not included in the program cost.
Application and Payment Schedule:
Program Application and $500.00 deposit payment: Due September 1, 2024
1st Installment Payment of $618.500: Due September 15, 2024
2nd Installment Payment of $618.500: Due October 1, 2024
Space availability is first-come, first-served. A completed application (including deposit) must be submitted prior to being formally accepted to the program. The program may fill prior to the advertised application deadline.
Refund information:
Once accepted to the program, all payments are non-refundable.
