Young Alumni Board

Vision

The Young Alumni Board (YAB) looks to develop future leaders and foster and sustain a culture of robust involvement and philanthropy with the Parker College of Business.

Mission

The YAB is a diverse group of young professionals under the age of 40 who serve and support current students and recent graduates with programs and communications uniquely tailored to their needs and who promote and support the University’s programs and activities in order to cultivate a strong bond among recent graduates.

Initiatives

YAB members speak to classes and student organizations through the Taking Flight speaker series as well as host panel sessions during Professional Development Day, which takes place the day before the Fall Eagle Expo Career Fair.  The board offers a best-in-class mentorship program to enhance students’ marketability and increase their professionalism to help them be better prepared for their careers and stand out as top candidates to potential employers.

Members plan and host networking events through the Out of the Nest series where recent graduates, other alumni, and local employers can socialize and learn new skills to build their professional networks.  The board also supports the University’s fundraising initiatives, such as the Parker College of Business Gala and the Ensure Our Eagles Finish Strong campaign, which raised nearly $200,000 for student scholarships for seniors who faced financial hardships due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Lastly, the Young Alumni Board is a regular contributor to the Eagle Executive magazine and champions the college’s marketing efforts.
