Creativity has a meaningful place on the East Georgia Campus. Surrounded by natural beauty and modern learning spaces, our Art on Campus initiative integrates visual art into everyday life and highlights how creativity inspires thought, reflection, and connection across our community.
Since its launch in 2012, the initiative has supported a curated art collection displayed throughout our Swainsboro and Statesboro locations. These installations enrich the campus environment, spark curiosity, and strengthen the connection between academic learning, culture, and the broader region.
Artwork is displayed in public indoor spaces across campus, serving as touchpoints that encourage learning, celebrate local history, and demonstrate how different disciplines intersect.
Art Collection
Our catalogued collection features a wide range of mediums and reflects artistic and cultural diversity. The collection includes work created by students, faculty, staff, and regional artists, as well as a commissioned watercolor series by Georgia artist Alan Campbell showcasing scenes from Emanuel County.
Self-Guided Art Tours
Visitors are welcome to explore artwork across campus through self-guided tours available during regular business hours, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m.–5 p.m. These tours offer an accessible way to experience the depth and variety of art on the East Georgia Campus.
Art Gallery
The Art Gallery in the Jean A. Morgan (JAM) Student Activities Center provides an intimate venue for showcasing artwork by students, faculty, staff, and regional creators. This gallery offers emerging artists a place to exhibit their work and allows visitors to experience the impact of art within a university setting.
Gallery Hours: Monday–Friday, 8 a.m.–5 p.m.
Purchase Prize
Each year, students participate in a juried exhibition, with the winning artist receiving the Purchase Prize—an award that includes a monetary prize and permanent placement in the campus collection. Purchase Prize artwork is displayed across East Georgia locations and highlights the exceptional talent of our student artists.

Vision Series
The Vision Series is a privately supported cultural and academic enrichment program that brings distinguished speakers, performances, and arts programming to the East Georgia region. Past events have featured President and Mrs. Jimmy Carter, Dr. Maya Angelou, the Atlanta Pops, Ambassador Andrew Young, and trips to iconic venues such as the Fox Theatre and the High Museum of Art.
Unless noted otherwise, all Vision Series events are free and open to the public.
