Online/Distant Learners
Learning Online
At Georgia Southern University we aim to provide a comprehensive college experience for all students, whether you are attending classes in person or online. Many of our students choose online learning due to work schedules, family obligations, and the ability to study anywhere at any time. Whatever your reasons, we strive to provide services that allow you to have a top-tier learning experience full of support and expert guidance.
The following university offices, departments, and resources can be accessed online. If you are a fully online student or are only taking one online class, don’t miss out on the opportunity to take advantage of student success and support resources virtually. You can schedule appointments and view the following online resources here:
- Synchronous online classes have a day and time for virtual meetings, while asynchronous classes do not. Online learners, especially those with asynchronous classes, should schedule time to work on their classes throughout the week in order to better manage their time and organize their assignments.
- Make sure you set up a work space that is just for your classes and studying. Organize your space so that you are able to access all of your materials, attend your classes, and study with minimal interruptions.
- As an online student, you do not have in-person face-to-face time with your instructor. Consider attending virtual office hours if possible or schedule an appointment with your instructor if you are struggling with the class. Additionally, be sure to communicate professionally with your instructor via email.
